I've worn this shoe to work and hiking daily. Excellent breathability and great fit. Only downside is inside heal lining has torn a little but it's not a problem I can feel on my foot.

I have wide feet as well as problems with the base of my second toe. I used to get New Balance for running and casual use, but these shoes work even better. I do use a special insole with a plastic arch for greater support, so I can't speak to the native insoles. I bought them for running
